The 1310nm 12mW SLD Superluminescent Diodes is highly qualified SLEDs for a diverse range of Fiber Optic Gyroscopes(FOG) applications. These SLEDs can operate over demanding temperature ranges, increased shock/vibrations levels, and have verified long lifetimes due to their use in defense and space environments.
The DWDM 10mW DFB Butterfly Laser Diode is a high performance DFB laser diode. The center wavelengths are at DWDM wavelength grid (ITU grid) with 100GHz channel spacing. An InGaAs MQW (multi-quantum well) DFB (distributed feedback) laser chip is hermetically sealed inside a 14-pin butterfly package, fitted with thermistor, thermoelectric cooler (TEC), monitor photodiode and built-in optical isolator. This laser module has 2.5Gbps direct modulation bit rate. This product can be used in various OC-48 or STM-16 systems.
976nm 200mW Laser Module Single Mode Pump Laser diodes are designed for applications such as low noise EDFA's, dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) EDFA's and CATV pumping applications. They deliver up to 600mW of kink free output power from single mode fiber. These devices These lasers are designed as pump sources for erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) applications. These devices utilize a fiber Bragg grating design for enhanced wavelength and power stability performance. These products have been designed to ensure superior wavelength locking over drive current temperature and optical feedback changes. They are field proven diode lasers and come with integrated TEC cooler and thermistor.
1550nm Superluminescent Diodes SLED are optical sources with a rather wide optical bandwidth. In that they differ from both lasers, that have a very narrow spectrum, and white light sources, that exhibit a much larger spectral width. This characteristic mainly reflects itself in a low temporal coherence of the source (which is the limited capability of the emitted light wave to maintain the phase over time). SLED may however exhibit a high degree of spatial coherence, meaning that they can be efficiently coupled into single-mode optical fibers. Some applications take advantage of the low temporal coherence of SLED sources to achieve high spatial resolution in imaging techniques. The coherence length is a quantity frequently used to characterize the temporal coherence of the light source. It is related to the path difference between the two arms of an optical interferometer over which the light wave is still capable to generate an interference pattern.
