Box Optronics Distributed Feedback DFB butterfly Lasers are narrow line width, single-frequency laser diodes that use a corrugated wave guide throughout the active region of the laser cavity, These DFB butterfly laser diodes are housed in 14-pin butterfly package. They include fiber pigtails from 1 to 1.5 m in length, terminated with FC/APC connectors. DFB butterfly Laser’s periodic structure acts as a distributed reflector, providing optical feedback and wavelength selection for the diode. This allows these lasers to achieve a 2 MHz or 0.1nm typical line width with an excellent side mode suppression ratio (40 dB typical). These DFB lasers are designed for mode-hop-free, continuous current tuning from 15 °C to 35 °C. These diodes can be both temperature and current tuned to achieve the desired operating wavelength with typical output powers of 10mW~100mW for the CWDM, DWDM devices.

  • The 1510nm DFB Butterfly Fiber Coupled Laser Diode high performance DFB laser diode is fibre coupled with single mode optical fibre. CW output powers are wavelength dependent and lie between 2mW and 20mW. Provided in a standard 14-pin butterfly mount, these laser diodes have a built in monitor photodiode, Peltier effect thermoelectric cooler, thermistor, and optical isolator. The SMF-28 or PM optical output fibre can be terminated with SC/PC, FC/PC, SC/APC, or FC/APC connectors.
